Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver professional and compassionate care to patients of all ages in pre-hospital and hospital settings
• Perform thorough patient assessments and take appropriate action according to treatment guidelines
• Administer medications safely using the five patient rights and standing orders
• Titrate drips such as nitroglycerin, heparin, IV fluids, and vasopressors as needed
• Coordinate patient transfers and communicate status clearly at handoff
• Supervise EMTs and bystanders to ensure safety during emergency responses
• Document all assessments, treatments, and interventions in a timely manner
• Adjust workload and staffing needs in real time to meet patient care demands

Qualifications

• Active Paramedic License with NREMT-P certification
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Valid Minnesota license plus either a North Dakota license or Compact license with proof of Privilege to Practice
• Experience providing ALS-level care including titratable drips
• Preferred experience with intubation
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility and cannot be currently employed PRN, part-time, or full-time with those organizations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making abilities
• Proficiency with ALS equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators
• Knowledge of standing orders, medical director guidelines, and state regulations
• Ability to manage multiple patients or situations simultaneously
• Clear communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary settings
