Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $84 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, expert care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
Monitor fetal heart rates and respond swiftly to any changes to ensure the safest outcomes
Collaborate with OB techs and physicians during C-sections by circulating and supporting the surgical team
Float between L&D, postpartum, and NICU units to support growing families across the care continuum
Educate and comfort Spanish-speaking patients and families, bridging language barriers with empathy
Manage high-risk deliveries and support families through substance withdrawal and complex situations

Qualifications

Active California RN license
Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
2-3 years of recent L&D/PP experience
Prior travel contract experience preferred
Ability to circulate during C-sections and float to postpartum and NICU units

Knowledge & Skills

Cerner EMR and FetalLink fetal monitoring system
AWHONN staffing guidelines and high-risk OB protocols
Circulating in the OR for C-sections
Caring for grower/feeders in the NICU
Supporting families through substance withdrawal and limited prenatal care
