Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and surgical instruments for obstetric procedures
• Assist the OB surgical team by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs
• Perform accurate instrument and sponge counts for patient safety
• Ensure proper patient positioning and protection throughout procedures
• Complete Trinity specialty competency tasks and skills checklists as required
• Maintain documentation and participate in preoperative and postoperative processes
• Adhere to infection control, vaccination, and fit test requirements to keep patients and staff safe

Qualifications

• Active Surgical Technologist certification or equivalent licensure as required
• Experience or focused training in obstetrics surgical support
• BLS certification required
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass license/certificate verification, Trinity 10 panel drug screen, fit test, and required health screenings/vaccines

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of OB surgical procedures and sterile technique
• Proficiency with instrument handling, counts, and operating room workflows
• Familiarity with Trinity Specialty Specific Competency requirements
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Compliance with required health screenings and immunizations
