Shift Type: Days vary (flexible to meet department needs). Day shift options: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, or 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM. 36–40 hrs/week schedules with on-call expectations: weeknight call ~every 1–2 weeks, weekend call ~every 4–5th weekend, 30-minute response time, holiday rotation included. Shift type: day_night (day shifts with on-call/overnight coverage).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room, prioritizing patient safety and sterile technique
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical techs to ensure smooth, efficient procedures
• Respond to on-call notifications promptly (30-minute response expectation) and manage emergent OR needs
• Complete required Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards
• Verify and maintain accurate patient documentation and assist with handoffs and transitions of care
• Participate in holiday and weekend rotations as part of the OR team’s shared coverage responsibilities

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (license/certificate verification required)
• Operating Room (OR) experience preferred or demonstrated perioperative competency
• BLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (listed as required)
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Must pass required health screenings: Fit Test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella), Tdap, and TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA)
• Willingness to participate in on-call, weekend, and holiday rotations with a ~30-minute response time

• Perioperative nursing practices and sterile technique
• OR workflow, instrumentation basics, and teamwork in the surgical setting
• Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
• Clear, timely communication during high-stakes situations
• Comfort with competency-based testing and skills verification processes
• Ability to adapt to flexible schedules and department staffing needs
