Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify medication orders accurately and promptly to ensure patient safety
• Perform sterile IV compounding and supervise technicians in compounding tasks
• Manage therapeutic dosing (vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulants) with clinical judgment
• Oversee Pyxis and Pak Edge checks, first-dose verifications, and emergency med box readiness
• Collaborate with nursing and medical teams on pain consults and medication-related issues
• Support and mentor pharmacy technicians to maintain high quality and compliance
• Use Dose Edge and Meditech effectively to document and verify medication processes

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited pharmacy school (PharmD or equivalent) — required
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in Missouri (MO) — required
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience (inpatient experience preferred)
• Experience with sterile IV compounding and medication verification
• Familiarity with Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech
• ACLS / BLS preferred
• NICU experience is a plus but not required

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy workflows and medication safety
• Proficiency with Dose Edge verification processes
• Experience using Pyxis/automated dispensing systems and Pak Edge
• Comfortable supervising and training pharmacy technicians
• Skilled in vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing and monitoring
• Ability to navigate Meditech EMR for order verification and documentation
