Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate psychiatric care and direct support to patients in a correctional mental health setting
• Observe, assess, and document patient behaviors and clinical changes accurately and promptly
• Assist with therapeutic activities, following individualized care plans to promote safety and stabilization
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and communicate critical information
• Use de-escalation and crisis-intervention techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
• Participate in orientation, training, and ongoing professional development to maintain best practices

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) credential (required)
• Comfortable working in a correctional facility setting and following institutional policies
• Available for the scheduled shift pattern (Thursday–Monday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM) and 3-week orientation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Reliable, professional, and dedicated to patient-centered mental health care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of psychiatric patient care practices and behavioral health interventions
• Skill in documentation, observation, and reporting of clinical information
• Proficiency with de-escalation, crisis intervention, and safety protocols
• Ability to follow care plans and support therapeutic activities
• Strong teamwork, situational awareness, and effective communication skills
