Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including medication administration and wound care
- Perform thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs and report changes promptly
- Document care accurately and maintain clear electronic health records
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-focused care
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications and discharge instructions
- Follow infection control standards and facility policies to keep patients safe
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Previous acute care experience preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong clinical assessment, communication and critical thinking skills
Education
- Practical nursing diploma or certificate
- Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN for RN applicants
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Patient assessment and early recognition of clinical changes
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Infection prevention and control principles
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication with patients, families and clinical teams
