Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output and resident status changes
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and lift equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the interdisciplinary care team
• Follow care plans and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with meal setup and feeding as needed, respecting dietary requirements and preferences

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — New Jersey certification preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings or immunizations
• Comfortable providing direct patient care and working as part of a busy care team
• Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong basic nursing care skills: bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding and mobility assistance
• Knowledge of infection control principles and safe handling of linens and waste
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Clear communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with nurses and families
• Basic charting and documentation skills; willingness to learn the facility's systems
