Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
Assist with safe transfers, ambulation and positioning to promote comfort and mobility
Support mealtime, hygiene and personal care while preserving dignity
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
Valid CNA registration in Connecticut or eligibility to obtain CT registration
Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
Comfortable working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment
Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

Strong resident-centered care and excellent bedside manner
Ability to perform ADL assistance, vital signs and basic clinical observations
Familiarity with infection prevention practices and safe patient handling
Teamwork, reliable communication and basic documentation skills
Adaptability, patience and a positive attitude under busy conditions
