Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and support to residents with dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics
• Document care accurately and promptly in resident records
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and team members

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Active or eligible to obtain New Mexico CNA listing or state reciprocity if applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Comfort working overnight hours and flexible per-diem scheduling
• Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of resident-centered care and dignity-focused practices
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, assisting with ADLs, safe transfers
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during busy shifts
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety standards
• Compassion, patience, and a calm approach in stressful situations
