Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) to help residents maintain dignity and independence
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition promptly to nursing staff
• Document care, observations, and interventions accurately and timely
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Engage with residents to promote social and emotional well-being

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required) — must be valid for New Mexico practice
• CPR/BLS certification (required or obtain upon hire, per facility policy)
• Comfortable working night shifts and following per-diem scheduling
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred but not required

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and current CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care and infection control practices
• Ability to safely assist with mobility, transfers, and use of assistive equipment
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and resident-centered approach
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
