Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations accurately
- Support nursing staff by reporting changes in patient condition promptly
- Assist with transfers, mobility, and safe patient handling following facility protocols
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for patients and families
- Build positive relationships with patients and their families through clear communication and empathy
- Document care and interventions thoroughly and timely in patient records
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico (or eligible to obtain)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care with compassion and professionalism
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completed CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care and infection control practices
- Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with patient mobility and safe transfer techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide emotional support
- Basic charting and documentation abilities
