Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate basic care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, promoting dignity and independence
- Take and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support meal service and assist with feeding when needed
- Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection control practices
- Document care activities accurately and communicate clearly during shift hand-offs
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care and safety procedures
- Comfortable with activities of daily living (ADL) assistance
- Ability to follow care plans and report observations clearly
- Good time management and bedside manner
- Basic charting and documentation skills
