Location: Honolulu, HI

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (exact start/end times and specific days to be confirmed by facility); acute care shift

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $27 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care in an acute care setting
Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes promptly to the nursing team
Support nursing staff with admissions, transfers, and safe patient handling
Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to clear, timely communication
Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
Experience or comfort working in an acute care environment is highly valued
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or encouraged
Ability to pass facility-background checks, health screenings, and required onboarding
Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-centered mindset

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

Skills in patient transfers, safe lifting, and mobility assistance
Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
Familiarity with infection prevention and safety procedures
Basic charting and documentation skills; EHR familiarity a plus
Observational skills to notice changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
Professional communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
