Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site medical care and injury prevention services at a contracted high school and related settings
• Perform thorough histories and musculoskeletal physical evaluations to diagnose injuries and create rehab plans
• Manage concussion care, including symptom monitoring and supervised return-to-play progression
• Document evaluations and treatments accurately and communicate plans with athletes, parents, coaches, and care teams
• Perform occupational health and rehab services (post-offer employment testing, desk assessments, FPNs) to support safe return-to-work decisions
• Conduct functional progress assessments and job-specific conditioning programs to guide patient and employer outcomes
• Coordinate schedules for event coverage and work collaboratively with clinic and athletic staff
• Serve as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic—take histories, assist with scheduling, and educate patients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology (required)
• 1+ years of related work experience
• Current Athletic Trainer license in Wisconsin (must be maintained)
• Board of Certification (ATC) credential (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Valid, current driver's license
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail with intermediate to expert computer proficiency

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Musculoskeletal examination and diagnosis
• Concussion evaluation and management
• Emergency care and field-side assessment
• Injury prevention strategies and rehabilitation planning
• Occupational health testing and post-offer employment testing (POETs)
• Functional assessments and return-to-work conditioning programs
• Excellent interpersonal communication, compassion, and problem-solving
• Self-starter mindset and ability to coordinate schedules and clinic tasks
