Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents and patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document vital signs, intake, output, and behavioral observations accurately
• Support nursing staff by reporting changes in condition and participating in care planning
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for patients and families
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
• Follow infection control policies and facility protocols to keep everyone safe

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• Valid CNA licensure in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and providing hands-on patient care
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
• Ability to pass required background checks and any facility-specific screenings
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting assistance
• Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with charting and basic healthcare documentation
• Infection prevention and control practices
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Compassionate bedside manner and effective teamwork
