Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem, variable shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room by sterilizing equipment and setting up instruments
Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to infection control protocols
Anticipate the needs of surgeons and respond quickly during critical moments
Handle specimen collection and labeling with precision and care
Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other staff to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention
Familiarity with a wide range of surgical instruments and equipment
Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Understanding of surgical procedures and anatomy
