Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and instruments for complex neurosurgery and spine procedures
• Assist surgeons during a wide range of cases including neuro, spine, ortho-spine and bariatric surgery
• Process, sanitize and track instruments and scopes with attention to detail
• Support robotic and endoscopic procedures, including setup and instrumentation
• Respond to call and weekend coverage needs promptly and professionally
• Collaborate with perioperative team members and participate in teaching hospital workflows
• Use charting systems like Epic to document perioperative care when required

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience as an Operating Room Surgical Technologist
• Required trauma experience: Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma preferred
• BLS certification required
• Prior travel experience preferred and travel assignment readiness required
• Teaching hospital experience required; prior experience in neurosurgery/spine/complex general surgery strongly preferred
• Comfort with call schedules and weekend coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Aseptic technique and strict infection control practices
• Instrument processing, sterilization and high level disinfection
• Specimen handling and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
• Experience with endoscopic procedures and robotic systems (Da Vinci Si/SP/Xi, Mazor)
• Familiarity with Epic or similar charting systems (preferred)
• Ability to manage complex OR instrumentation and case carts
