Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based methods
• Develop individualized treatment plans that promote measurable progress and functional outcomes
• Implement therapy interventions across settings, adapting techniques to each patient’s goals
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families to create coordinated, patient-centered care
• Document evaluations, progress notes and discharge plans accurately and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients, families and staff on communication strategies and safe swallowing practices
• Monitor outcomes and adjust plans of care to ensure high-quality, efficient treatment

Qualifications

• Active SLP license in Delaware or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
• Experience working with adult and pediatric populations in rehabilitation or outpatient settings is a plus
• Strong clinical reasoning, assessment and therapeutic skills
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification as required by facility

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in speech, language, cognitive-communication and dysphagia evaluation and treatment
• Skilled in goal writing, progress tracking and outcome-driven therapy
• Comfortable working in interdisciplinary teams and communicating clearly with patients and families
• Familiarity with clinical documentation best practices and electronic health records
• Ability to adapt therapy approaches to varied patient needs and settings
