Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the nursing team on shift to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
• Supervise clinical workflows including admissions, discharges, and patient transfers
• Mentor, coach, and evaluate nursing staff to promote professional growth
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols
• Oversee medication administration and accurate documentation in the patient record
• Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams and patient families to facilitate care plans
• Triage patient needs and escalate clinical concerns to providers as appropriate
• Support unit performance goals, quality initiatives, and patient satisfaction efforts

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Maine or Compact RN licensure accepted where applicable
• BLS required, ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory, charge nurse, or leadership role
• Strong clinical assessment skills and proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
• Current CPR and up-to-date immunizations/health requirements per facility policy
• Flexible availability for evening/2nd shift coverage

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing required, BSN preferred
• Completion of required facility orientation and competency validations

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical leadership, delegation, and staff management
• Patient assessment, triage, and acute clinical judgment
• Medication administration and safety practices
• Infection control and compliance with regulatory standards
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
