Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention and control program development, implementation, and continuous improvement across the health system
• Conduct surveillance, collect and trend infection data, and prepare reports for NHSN and regulatory agencies
• Develop, write, and implement policies and procedures that align with CDC, CMS, OSHA, TJC, FDA, and APIC guidance
• Design and deliver IPC education, training, and orientations for staff, patients, families, and communities
• Serve as chair of the IPC committee and provide direct oversight of the Employee Health program
• Translate regulatory requirements and evidence-based practices into actionable initiatives and measurable outcomes
• Provide subject-matter expertise to clinical and administrative leaders to integrate infection control with strategic and operational goals
• Travel to multiple regional sites to assess practices, deliver training, and support local teams

Qualifications

• Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (Alaska license required or application submitted prior to start for direct hire; agency staff must have active Alaska license)
• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required (nursing, public health, epidemiology, microbiology or similar)
• Master's degree (MPH, MSN) preferred
• Certification in Infection Control and Prevention (CIC) required
• BLS current within 3 months of hire and maintained per policy
• Minimum 3 years of acute care/infection control experience and/or data collection and performance improvement or risk management experience
• Clinical Competency and Manager Competency to be achieved within 3 months of hire

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required
• Master's degree (MPH, MSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of epidemiology, infectious disease, and HAI surveillance
• Experience with NHSN reporting and regulatory compliance (CDC, CMS, OSHA, TJC, FDA)
• Skillful in data collection, trending, basic statistics, and interpretation
• Proficient with MS Office and database applications
• Strong program management, policy development, and performance improvement skills
• Excellent communicator who can adapt messaging for varied audiences and multicultural settings
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across clinical and administrative teams
