Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care, treatment and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia and COPD
• Manage mechanical ventilation and advanced airway support using ventilators such as Servo and similar models
• Administer and monitor high-flow oxygen therapy, CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer treatments and suctioning
• Perform patient assessments, document interventions accurately in Meditech and update care plans
• Collaborate closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Respond to emergency situations and participate in resuscitation efforts as needed
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care, discharge plans and device use
• Champion active disciplinary approaches and contribute to unit quality and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• NBRC credential and current RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) state license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
• At least one prior travel assignment required (you know the travel rhythm!)
• Preferred experience with Meditech documentation and stroke education experience
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator familiarity (Servo-1, Servo-U and similar)
• High-flow oxygen therapy, V60 and advanced oxygen delivery systems
• CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer therapy and suctioning techniques
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic medical record systems
• Ability to work independently on busy acute care units and collaborate with physicians
• Skilled in patient assessment, respiratory diagnostics and emergency response
