Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, with every 3rd weekend rotation

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in acute and critical care settings
Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and mechanical ventilation
Monitor patient response and adjust treatments in collaboration with the care team
Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests
Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care techniques
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
Active Iowa Respiratory Therapist license or willingness to obtain via compact
Minimum of 1 year recent acute care experience preferred
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekends
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in ventilator management and airway care
Proficient in interpreting ABGs and adjusting parameters
Skilled in patient assessment and critical thinking
Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR)
