Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee communication and coordination of patient care across multiple departments including Acute Care, Birthing Center, Cancer, Wound and Infusion, Emergency Department, and Surgery.
• Lead in setting the tone for a professional work environment by mentoring staff and serving as a resource for clinical questions and interventions.
• Assist directors with time-sensitive behavior expectations and follow up to ensure proper communication.
• Provide direct patient care as needed and ensure adequate staffing to meet patient needs.
• Retrieve necessary items for patient care from other departments.
• Determine appropriate patient placement for admissions to Acute Care.
• Assist with after-hours pharmacy needs.
• Activate and manage Incident Command in a Mass Casualty Incident.
• Coordinate staffing needs between departments.
• Perform other duties as requested to support patient care and team operations.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain an active Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.
• Two-year degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification required or obtained within 12 months of hire.
• 3+ years of related work experience required.
• TNCC certification encouraged.

Education

• Two-year degree in nursing required
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care coordination and supervision skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments and disciplines.
• Proficient in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC (preferred).
• Expertise in registered nursing practices and standards.
• Skilled in mentoring and supporting team members.
