Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, including weekends as required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing care for laboring mothers and newborns in a dynamic hospital setting
Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, quickly responding to changes
Assist with deliveries, including C-sections, and perform newborn assessments
Educate new parents on infant care, feeding, and postpartum recovery
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, compassionate outcomes
Manage nursery care for healthy newborns, including screenings and vaccinations

Qualifications

Active RN license in Illinois or compact state (Nursys verified)
Minimum 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery and Nursery experience
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
DCI/BVP competency or ability to complete upon hire

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in fetal heart monitoring interpretation and intervention
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for mother-baby care
Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Compassionate bedside manner with patients and families
