Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced surgery unit
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
Monitor vital signs and manage patient responses to anesthesia and surgery
Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery plans

Qualifications

Active RN license in Illinois (or compact state) - Nursys verified
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
DCI/BVP certification or willingness to obtain
Minimum 1 year of recent surgical nursing experience preferred
Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in perioperative nursing and sterile technique
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, team-oriented environment
Proficiency with electronic health records and surgical documentation
Commitment to patient safety and quality care
