Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry continuously to detect and respond to dysrhythmias quickly and confidently
• Manage advanced respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC) and intervene to prevent escalation
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, following protocols and collaborating with the care team
• Perform central line and PICC care, maintain line integrity, and prevent complications
• Execute IV insulin protocols and manage insulin drips safely for complex endocrine patients
• Provide post-procedure recovery care (kidney biopsy, paracentesis) with vigilant assessment and documentation
• Deliver compassionate, specialized care for transplant patients (kidney, liver, pancreas) and other high-acuity medical populations
• Document thoroughly in EPIC and use the Pyxis medication system to ensure safe medication administration

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license (required)
• BLS and ACLS (required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with a strong Stepdown/PCU background (MS/Tele experience preferred; may require additional experience)
• Comfort with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, and emergency cardiac response
• Experience with IV therapy, central line/PICC care, blood product administration, and titration of drips
• Experience or comfort providing post-procedure recovery for procedures like kidney biopsy and paracentesis
• Willingness to float within the OSU organization and participate in call and rotating weekend coverage
