Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in the Step-Down Unit
Monitor and interpret telemetry and physiologic data to detect changes in condition
Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans
Perform thorough assessments and document findings clearly in the medical record
Respond effectively to changes in patient status and escalate concerns when needed
Educate patients and families to promote recovery and safe transitions of care

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana required
Experience or comfort working in a Step-Down Unit or progressive care setting preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Strong clinical assessment and telemetry-monitoring skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Clinical assessment of medically complex patients
IV medication administration and infusion pump management
Accurate clinical documentation and charting
Team collaboration and effective communication under pressure
Familiarity with common hospital EMR workflows
