Shift Type: Night 3x12-hour, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, rotating (may include days or combination based on department needs); first week orientation Mon-Fri dayshift, schedule reviewed every 4 weeks; weekends variable based on unit needs
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity nursing care to adults on PCU and oncology-focused inpatient units
- Monitor and manage telemetry, arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines to maintain patient safety
- Administer and monitor blood products and IV therapies, including complex drips as appropriate
- Safely participate in chemotherapy administration and monitoring when required
- Respond to rapid response and code situations as an active team member
- Perform and interpret ABGs, assist with airway management including tracheostomy and HFNC support
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory, PT, and social work for coordinated care
- Document care accurately in Epic and maintain compliance with isolation and infection prevention protocols
- Educate patients and families on procedures, discharge plans, and self-care to improve outcomes
- Maintain vigilance for patient falls and implement prevention strategies on every shift
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of high-acuity PCU level or higher within the last 3 years with at least 1 year of current specialty experience
- Travel nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Preferred certifications: OCN or ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
- Proven experience with Epic charting system
- Competency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Ability and willingness to float to MedSurg and various PCU/Oncology specialty units
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- IV and vascular access skills including peripheral, central, and PICC lines
- Arterial line management and ABG interpretation
- Blood product administration and transfusion monitoring
- Chemotherapy safety, administration, and monitoring
- Non-invasive airway support including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
- Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and wound care/Wound VAC competence
- Familiarity with isolation precautions, infection prevention, and fall prevention strategies
- Use of rapid response and code team protocols
- Comfort working with specialty populations such as BMT, hematology, surgical oncology, and neuro cases
