Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality progressive care to adult patients in the PCU
• Monitor cardiac, respiratory and hemodynamic status and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and titrate therapies safely according to orders
• Perform thorough assessments, document care clearly, and communicate changes to the team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to develop and execute patient plans
• Educate patients and families on conditions, care plans and discharge needs
• Respond effectively to emergencies and assist with advanced life support interventions as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license (North Carolina license or compact RN preferred)
• Minimum 2+ years of progressive care (PCU) nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and telemetry experience
• Ability to work independently on overnight shifts and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in cardiac/telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Proficient with medication administration and IV therapies
• Excellent clinical judgment and prioritization under pressure
• Clear communication and patient education skills
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting care accurately
