Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care to PACU patients
• Assess and monitor patient recovery from anesthesia, including vital signs and pain control
• Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe handoffs
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition and emergencies
• Document patient status, interventions and progress accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Texas)
• PACU specialty experience — minimum 1 year of relevant experience
• Current BLS certification (facility may require additional certifications)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring skills
• Comfort with airway management and postoperative monitoring
• IV management, pain control strategies and medication administration
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families and surgical teams
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced recovery environment
