Roles & Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver patient-centered care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with hospital policy and state practice act
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans in partnership with physicians and family
• Document patient care accurately and timely to meet standards of care
• Provide education and support to patients and families to promote understanding and successful recovery
• Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities to advance quality care
• Apply clinical expertise and critical thinking to escalate concerns and ensure patient safety
• Float to other units as needed to support patient care continuity and unit needs

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• NIHSS certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• Education verification required (proof of nursing education)
• Previous nursing experience — we are seeking experienced nurses comfortable in acute care
• Ability to work nights, 12-hour shifts, and every other weekend/holiday as scheduled
• Willingness to float to other units when needed

• Medication administration and safe practice
• Patient assessment and development of individualized care plans
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Patient and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Clinical expertise in ortho/neuro patient needs and coordination of care
• Critical thinking, situational awareness and appropriate escalation
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and participation in performance improvement
