Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to adult surgical patients
Prepare the operating room and instruments, maintaining strict sterile technique
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs for efficient case flow
Perform thorough patient assessments and handoffs before and after surgery
Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience
Document perioperative care accurately in the electronic medical record
Participate in team huddles and quality improvement activities to enhance outcomes

Qualifications

Current RN license in Louisiana (or compact RN with LA eligibility)
Minimum relevant OR experience preferred; open to perioperative nurses who love the OR
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) a plus when applicable
CNOR certification preferred but not required — we support your certification journey
Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of perioperative principles and sterile technique
Proficiency with patient assessment, intraoperative monitoring, and positioning
Comfortable using electronic medical records for documentation
Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and maintain efficient case flow
Calm critical thinking under pressure and excellent situational awareness
