Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to OB/GYN patients during labor, delivery, postpartum and gynecologic care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings clearly with the care team
• Monitor fetal and maternal status using appropriate monitoring tools and intervene as needed
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and document interventions accurately
• Educate patients and families on procedures, postpartum care, breastfeeding and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives and interdisciplinary team members to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and handoffs for continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Texas
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in OB/GYN or related maternal-child nursing (as listed)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS, NRP or specialty certifications encouraged or preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage emergent situations and provide strong patient advocacy
• Flexibility to work night shifts and adapt to facility-specific protocols

Education

• Active RN license required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of maternal and fetal physiology and OB/GYN clinical practices
• Proficiency with fetal monitoring and interpreting tracings
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration and postoperative care
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and remain calm under pressure
