Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care as a vital member of the MST team during overnight shifts
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document changes in condition accurately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other staff for seamless patient care transitions
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication
• Maintain a safe environment and adhere to infection control and safety standards
• Respond quickly and calmly to urgent situations and assist with transfers as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or compact licensure
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or available through employer support
• Previous experience in acute care, telemetry, or mobile stroke team (MST) settings is a plus
• Current basic clinical skills including IV therapy, medication administration, and documentation
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical judgment for acute and evolving conditions
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts and escalate concerns appropriately
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and coordinated care planning
