Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Flexible shifts as needed, 4-hour minimum

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns during the postpartum period
Monitor vital signs and assess recovery of both mother and baby
Educate new parents on infant care, feeding, and safety
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Administer medications and treatments as ordered
Document patient progress and respond to any changes in condition

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
Previous mother-baby or postpartum experience is a plus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Skills

Maternal-newborn nursing principles
Postpartum assessment and care
Patient education and family support
Electronic health records (EHR) proficiency
Team collaboration and critical thinking
