Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to Med/Surg patients with energy and focus
• Assess patients regularly and communicate changes promptly to the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following facility policies
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate safe discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education to promote recovery and reduce readmissions
• Maintain unit safety, infection control standards, and a positive team environment

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with active or eligible Louisiana license (compact license may apply)
• Experience or interest in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg) — this role centers on that skillset
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS or other certifications a plus
• Comfort working 12.5-hour clinical shifts and managing multiple patient needs
• Strong communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and clinical judgment for Med/Surg populations
• Medication administration best practices and safe IV care
• Wound care, drains, and post-op patient management experience
• Clear, timely documentation and strong handoff communication
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
