Shift Type: Per diem, variable 12.5-hour shifts as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, assess progress, and intervene as needed
Assist with deliveries, including C-sections, and provide immediate newborn care
Educate patients and families on labor process, pain management, and newborn care
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards

Qualifications

Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
Minimum 1-2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
BLS and NRP certifications required
Strong critical thinking and communication skills
A passion for women's and newborn health

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in fetal monitoring and interpretation
Knowledge of obstetric emergencies and interventions
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR)
Ability to work collaboratively in a high-stress environment
Compassionate patient education and support skills
