Start Date: 07-22-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Flexible per diem shifts, 12.5 hours per shift, schedule varies including weekends and holidays as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, adapting to changing conditions
Assist with deliveries, including natural births and cesarean sections
Educate and support families through the birthing process
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe outcomes

Qualifications

Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience preferred
BLS and NRP certifications required
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is a plus
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in maternal-fetal monitoring and interpretation
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR)
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and family education
Knowledge of infection control and safety standards
