Registered Nurse - ICU/PCU Float

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 4 shifts per week, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide critical care to patients in the ICU and PCU, managing complex conditions such as sepsis, DKA, and respiratory failure
Titrate and monitor vasoactive drips including Levophed, amiodarone, heparin, and propofol
Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Float between ICU and PCU units as needed, adapting to varying patient acuities and ratios
Perform comprehensive assessments, interpret telemetry, and respond to changes in patient status
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum of 1 year critical care experience required
Experience titrating drips and managing ventilators
Ability to work in a fast-paced, floating environment

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of critical care nursing principles and protocols
Proficient in interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry
Skilled in managing ventilators, BiPAP, and Airvo devices
Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
