Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional critical care to adult and geriatric ICU patients, including post-neurosurgery and complex multisystem cases
• Manage ventilated patients and perform ventilator adjustments and maintenance with attention to safety and comfort
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and apply findings to treatment decisions
• Care for arterial and central lines, and manage continuous IV sedation and vasoactive/cardiac drips with careful titration
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, initiate emergency responses, and manage dysrhythmias
• Implement neurological monitoring and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care, including EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and stroke management support
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to ensure high-quality, coordinated care
• Practice isolation precautions and PPE protocols to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state required) in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (explicitly required)
• Charting experience in Epic (required)
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS preferred; NIHSS preferred for neuro-focused care
• Strong hands-on skills with arterial/central line management, ventilator care, and IV therapy
• Comfortable floating between units and working in a Level II trauma, short-term acute care setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and BiPAP/CPAP support
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
• Arterial and central line care/management
• Continuous IV sedation and titration of vasoactive & cardiac drips
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Neurological monitoring (EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains) and post-neurosurgery care
• Epic electronic charting proficiency
• Isolation precautions/PPE and infection control practices
