Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate nursing care across units as the House Supervisor, ensuring safe, efficient patient flow
• Lead clinical teams during shifts, provide real-time guidance on complex ED and ICU cases
• Manage staffing and scheduling decisions to meet patient care needs and maintain unit coverage
• Respond to and manage codes, rapid response events, and crisis situations with calm leadership
• Oversee bed management, new admissions, post-procedure transfers and inter-unit escalations
• Serve as a clinical resource for policy, regulatory compliance and incident reporting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT, pharmacy, social services) to optimize patient outcomes
• Chart accurately in Epic and ensure documentation meets facility and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Oregon or compact state)
• Minimum ~5 years of clinical experience with ED or ICU background preferred
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS and NRP highly desired
• Previous charge or leadership experience preferred (House Supervisor or Charge RN)
• Travel nursing experience required — comfortable floating between units and facilities
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Valid vehicle required for assignment and travel between facilities as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency care and ICU clinical skills
• Experience with staffing models, decentralized/centralized staffing and scheduling
• Code management, de-escalation techniques and rapid response team leadership
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (TJC, OSHA, DPH) and incident reporting
• Familiarity with infection control, isolation procedures and narcotic diversion management
• Project experience such as EMR conversions and equipment implementation is a plus
• Ability to start and maintain IVs and prepare basic IV antibiotics/pressors when needed
• Comfort supervising care across specialties: ED, ICU, MS/Tele, surgical services and pediatrics
