Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for a high-acuity, fast-paced ED
• Perform advanced procedures such as RSI and central line care when required
• Implement sepsis interventions and support stroke protocol including tPA administration
• Manage EMTALA transfers and coordinate safe patient handoffs with other facilities
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care
• Support and mentor colleagues to maintain a respectful, team-oriented unit culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia (compact license accepted where applicable)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC required
• Minimum 2-3 years of emergency department experience
• Must have completed 2-3 prior travel assignments
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• Comfortable working in high-acuity, fast-paced EDs and managing patient ratios up to ~5:1

Education

• Current RN licensure; ADN/Associate of Nursing or BSN (BSN preferred where applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment, triage and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with RSI, sepsis management and stroke/tPA protocols
• Familiarity with central line care and psych patient management in the ED
• Knowledge of EMTALA transfer processes
• Efficient Meditech documentation and charting skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork and adaptability in busy settings
