Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for emergency patients across the lifespan
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Transcribe and implement physician orders and protocols with precision
• Coordinate the healthcare team and delegate tasks to ancillary staff
• Maintain a safe, calming environment in a high-acuity ED setting
• Participate in procedural sedation and trauma resuscitation

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license in Wyoming (compact license also accepted)
• Current BLS certification (or obtain within 60 days of hire)
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (or obtain within 6 months of hire)
• TNCC certification required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience; hospital and ED experience preferred
• Procedural sedation module completion within 6 months of hire
• De-escalation program certification within 6 months

Education

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required

Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and staff
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize in a fast-paced ED
• Problem-solving skills to handle complex clinical situations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (Point Click EMR)
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice
