Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms to detect changes early and act decisively
• Assess and manage intermediate and downgraded CVICU patients with precise cardiac-focused care
• Titrate vasoactive drips safely and accurately per unit protocols for hemodynamic stability
• Document patient care thoroughly in EPIC to ensure continuity and clarity of care
• Collaborate with cardiology, hospitalists, intensivists, RTs, and tele-monitor technicians to optimize patient outcomes
• Support the thoracic, cath lab/EP, and structural heart programs through informed bedside care
• Perform focused cardiac assessments and respond to changes in condition including post-op patients
• Serve as a dependable team member during transfers and unit floats to maintain consistent patient care

Qualifications

• Current RN license eligible for submission in the state where you will work
• BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year experience caring for stepdown/CVICU or similar cardiac patient population
• Ability and willingness to titrate drips such as amiodarone, nitro, nicardipine, epinephrine, and diltiazem per unit guidelines
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to confirm radius rule eligibility)
• Must pass a pass/fail orientation exam (open book) with a score of 90% or higher
• Not eligible if currently full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity

Education

• Active RN license (state licensure required)
• BSN not required for submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• EPIC charting and electronic documentation best practices
• Vasoactive drip titration and blood pressure management
• ECG interpretation and cardiac assessment
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP and basic troubleshooting of respiratory equipment
• Familiarity with cath lab/EP processes and structural heart/post-op care
• Ability to work with remote tele techs and interpret monitor strips independently
