Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and develop individualized treatment plans that restore function
• Implement therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and mobility training
• Monitor patient progress, update plans of care, and document outcomes in the medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and long-term goals to support lasting recovery
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current California Physical Therapy license (required)
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Experience in inpatient rehab, acute care, or outpatient settings is highly valued
• Strong documentation skills and comfort working with electronic medical records
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment planning for mobility, balance, strength, and functional independence
• Proficient with manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise progression
• Knowledge of assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and safe transfer training
• Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and EMR systems
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers with clear, practical instructions
• Strong clinical reasoning, time management, and patient-centered problem solving
