Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical function and mobility to establish baseline needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional recovery
• Implement therapeutic interventions including exercise, manual therapy, and gait training
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate holistic patient care
• Document progress and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and recovery goals
• Monitor and modify treatment plans based on patient response and goals

Qualifications

• Active California Physical Therapist license (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Comfortable treating a variety of inpatient/rehab diagnoses (orthopedic, neurologic, post-operative)
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation, and patient-communication skills
• Able to work a continuous day shift schedule including weekends as assigned
• Willingness to travel and relocate temporarily for the contract assignment

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; entry-level degree in physical therapy required for licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in therapeutic exercise, mobility training, and functional transfers
• Skilled in patient assessment, goal-setting, and progress measurement
• Familiarity with common rehab equipment and assistive devices
• Proficient documentation skills and ability to use electronic medical records
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with nurses, physicians, and families
• Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting
