Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' mobility, strength, balance, and functional needs to create individualized plans
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans focused on meaningful functional gains
• Provide hands-on therapy, gait training, and adaptive strategies to maximize independence
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy colleagues, and physicians to coordinate holistic care
• Document progress clearly and timely in the medical record to track outcomes and support transitions
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety strategies, and progress expectations
• Contribute to a positive therapeutic environment that encourages recovery and morale

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in Massachusetts or eligible for Massachusetts licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
• Experience in skilled nursing, inpatient rehab, or post-acute care is highly valued
• Excellent clinical reasoning, strong communication skills, and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to work across all days of the week and manage a full caseload on day shifts

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master’s or Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy or equivalent considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and gait training techniques
• Familiarity with mobility aids, adaptive equipment, and fall-risk mitigation
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education and interdisciplinary teamwork
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and deliver efficient, goal-oriented therapy
