Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement therapist-designed treatment plans to help patients regain function and independence
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and ADL practice
• Monitor and document patient progress clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Communicate progress and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and injury prevention
• Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe, clean treatment environment
• Participate in team huddles and care planning to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current PTA certification or completion of an accredited PTA program
• Active or eligible for Pennsylvania PTA licensure (state licensure required before practice)
• BLS/CPR certification required or obtained upon hire
• Comfortable with inpatient rehab and skilled nursing patient populations
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude
• Prior experience in post-acute or outpatient settings preferred

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise progressions and mobility training
• Familiarity with modalities commonly used in rehab and safety protocols
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort using electronic medical records
• Skilled at patient education, fall prevention, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Ability to lift safely and assist with transfers following facility protocols
• Strong clinical reasoning and the ability to follow treatment plans independently
