Location: Flint, Michigan

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM, every third weekend or as needed to cover gaps

Hours per Week: 60

Candidate Pay Rate: $40 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Conduct vital chemical analyses of blood, urine, and other body fluids to support accurate diagnoses
Count and identify blood cells using advanced microscopic techniques for life-saving insights
Prepare blood components for transfusions through precise compatibility testing
Maintain cutting-edge lab equipment with calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive care
Manage inventory efficiently to keep the lab running smoothly and resources optimized
Deliver clear reports and expert information to healthcare teams
Stay ahead with ongoing professional development and adherence to top QA standards
Foster a safe, clean environment while solving problems proactively

Qualifications

2+ years of Medical Laboratory Scientist experience
ASCP certification (required document)
Commitment to accreditation guidelines and quality control

Education

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in MLS procedures and analyses
Proficiency with lab analyzers, spectrophotometers, and microscopic techniques
Strong troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills
Inventory management and resource conservation abilities
